It always amazes me how much people are willing and able to pay when it comes to weddings — I understand the want to make it a beautiful and special day for both the Bride and Groom and also the guests and have things like some expensive banquet table runner, of course I do and I want the same from my wedding, but some people spend 3 times as much money as I earn in a year and get themselves in debt before the marriage has even begun! It’s crazy.

I went to a wedding a few weeks ago and was informed that the table centre pieces, which I hadn’t even noticed but have since seen pictures of — a few balloons in a fancy little vase — had cost them £300 alone!

When we got married we went for quality over quantity, we will cut out a lot of the unnecessary expenses but get great quality linens and the like.
