I apologise for not blogging the last week or so, I completely forgot to announce that I was heading back to the UK to stay with my parents for a few weeks.
I love it back here as it’s where I grew up and it always feels like home, but trust me to pick the week of the ‘worst ever winter’ in the UK to be back here – it’s done nothing but snow since I have been here, it’s so cold everything is icy so it’s dangerous to go out even when it’s not snowing and we’ve spent most of the week stuck indoors with the heating on full power trying to keep warm!
What I wouldn’t give to be back at The Balsams right about now, it’s simply the best new hampshire vacation money can buy that I have been to a few times – the last time was last summer when we went on a group work thing. It’s one of those places that seem too good to be true, it’s in an absolutely stunning location and the surroundings are worth the trip alone – but there’s also so many activities to do there and in the surrounding areas. Winter or Summer, it doesn’t matter as there is plenty to entertain – from skiing and culinary classes to golf and tennis. I have been to a few nh vacation destinations over the years as I live near enough by that it doesn’t take a long time to get there but it’s far enough away that it still feels like a vacation and this is definitely my favourite.
Alas I shall have to put up with being stuck indoors with nothing but the TV and the odd jigsaw to keep me entertained for the next few days at least.
Still, I love spending time with my parents. Maybe I will take them to The Balsams for some nh dining in style one of these days
