My Mom just hopped in her Ford Explorer as she does every day and tried to set off to work – only she couldn’t because the head gasket had blown, oh dear. She has had nothing but problems with that car over the last few years, I have told her to treat herself to a new one that’s going to be more reliable but she says she loves it too much to replace it – I’ve never really understood why people become attached to cars, my dad was the same with his old one and literally drove it until the day it fell to pieces.

Well at least she knows the best Los Angeles auto repair place to take it to by now, it’s almost like her second home!

So it looks like we need to take the trusty old ford escort in for repair again – I really need to stop calling it the trusty old for escort though because it hasn’t been that for years now!

We’re stuck with it for the time being though so it’s a good job we are good friends with a mechanic who does mates rates for us!

It wasn’t too long ago we had to take it in for a timing belt replacement and now my husband thinks that the water pump has broken and will need replacing also. We are hoping that it can be fixed rather than having to be fully replaced but knowing our luck that won’t be the case.

Oh joyous, our car has got to go to the garage again because the timing belt needs replacing. This really shouldn’t be happening this often when it is as new as it is, though at least it’s still under warranty so it isn’t costing us any thing.

Thankfully with all the issues we have had in the last few months with it we know of a great San Francisco auto repair place to take it to when something does go awry.

I wish we’d never sold our old honda accord now, at the time I thought it was a hunk of junk but looking back it really wasn’t all that bad and we could have saved our selves many dollars!

…Husbands car went to the dealership last night so that they could look at it this morning, there are several little issues with it like the electronic wing mirrors not always working and lots of little rattles — and the warranty runs out on Friday so he’s taken it to get looked at before it does.

Well he went to pick it up 3 hours ago now! The dealership is a 2 minute walk away. He’s not answering his cell so I have no idea what’s happened or where he’s ended up.

Not that I am worried about him, there will have just have been a problem he’s engrossed in — but still, he could call to let me know what’s going on.

Men, hey?
