It is almost that time again, we need to renew our car insurance. Why does it always seem to come around so fast? It seems like it wasn’t even a few months ago I was last looking at comparison websites and ringing around to try and get us the best possible deal, we did end up with some pretty cheap auto insurance which was nice – I wonder if we will be able to get the same or a similar deal this year.

Money is tight at the moment as it seems like we have had a lot of big payments going out this month – our savings have certainly taken a bit of a beating and it looks like we will be having a low key Christmas this year. That’s actually OK by us as we are not the sort that spend $100s on gifts for each other any way – I don’t think you have to spend a fortune on Christmas to make it a good one. But we do usually end up spending quite a lot on travel and accommodation – with our family and friends spread so far and wide it’s hard not to. I wonder if they’d all understand if we said we were not going to go visiting this year?

Any way, back to my auto insurance search – it’s really important to put the time and effort into searching around to find the best deal. It amazes me how many people are willing to just take the first quote they get as it saves time, you can save literally $100s just by shopping around a little, it’s really the only way to make sure you are getting the lowest rate.

I use comparison sites and quote engines for pretty much everything these days, not just insurance quotes.
