New furniture

I am really excited that we are getting some new aspen furniture delivered in a few days time – it’s for the garden so that when the weather is nicer we can sit out of an evening and eat our meals. We do have a table and chairs out there at the moment but it’s a rubbish old thing we inherited from my brother. It’ll be nice to have something ‘proper’.

I remember when my husband decided he wanted a new car, I remember because he simply arrived home one day with it! He told me he thought he would get a new car, his old one was falling to pieces and costing us a lot of money to keep on the road – before I had even had time to think about it I looked outside and saw a nice shiny black Golf in the spot where our old Kia used to be.

I thought there’s no way, he wouldn’t just go out and buy a new car without discussing it with me first? But no, sure enough that’s exactly what he had done.

He was in the doghouse for a while, I would have agreed we needed a new car and been on board after having a little time to think it through, but the fact he not only didn’t ask me but also simply rushed into buying the first one he came across and didn’t compare prices or research anything to find out more about what would suit us, it made me really annoyed at him.

As you know by now I like a good bargain and always research before I buy anything, even something that only costs £10 – if I can shop around and get it for £9 I am happy. So on such a big purchase I would have spent a long time doing that and thanks to sites like Trusted Dealer and Autotrader it’s pretty easy to do online these days. Trusted Dealers are a great used car consortium that I have used a few times in the past to help others find the best bargain on their new cars so I would have definitely used them to help us find ours.

Dungarees

Remember when dungarees were in fashion back in the 80s? I had a great pair of carhartt coveralls that I practically lived in one summer. I keep waiting for them to come back into fashion as a lot of 80s stuff has recently but it doesn’t appear to be happening. For now it’s only farmers and work men that need them hehe

Chinese yoyo

I need to pick up a chinese yoyo if any one knows where I can get one in the UK, I need it for a Chinese event I am attending next week but what I have discovered is that they are quite hard to get hold of around here, if I lived in China then sure, no problem, but they are much more difficult to come across over here, at least within the time frame I have left to get one.

Expecting twins

I have been looking at double baby strollers this afternoon – no not for me, I don’t have any sort of announcement to make
One of my friends from work just announced that she is expecting twins and was telling me how they were really going to struggle financially as they had only planned money-wise for one. I said I’d try and find her some bargains online to save her as many pennies as I can

I need to pick up some Marcus nursing uniforms for work, does any one know where I can get some cheap? The ones I have been looking at all seem quite expensive and I thought they were a lot cheaper than that the last time I bought some, although having said that it wa s a few years ago now and as we know every thing is going up in price.

New utility knife

I am looking to buy my husband a nice utility knife for his birthday – he’s owned the same one since he was a teenager and half the things on it no longer work or require a lot of muscles to get out – I think it’s about time he got a shiny new one that actually does every thing it’s supposed to do

I don’t like to pay full price for anything to be honest so I am always on the look out for coupons for all the places I shop on a regular basis.

The ease of selling a car online

I am so happy that sites like www.sellthecar.com exist and are so easy to use – I remember when I wanted to sell my first ever car about 15 years ago now and it was a complete nightmare – ringing round all the local papers and listing it in the for sale section, usually at an astronomical cost for just a few words. Then having to deal with people calling up to ask basic questions or coming around for a look.

It’s a lot easier when you just have to write one listing that can be as long as you like so it can include all the obvious information people are likely to want to know, such as the age, mileage, colour and condition of the car. Being able to add a photo is a great plus as well as they say that people shop with their eyes – you can be an expert wordsmith and make something sound a lot more attractive than it is, but when there’s a photo right in front of your eyes it’s a lot easier to see the real deal and make your own informed decision.

The Internet in general just makes life a whole lot easier for us these days, doesn’t it?

New Ipod cases

I was just looking at iPod cases online because mine is getting rather tatty, in fairness it’s no surprise as I have had it since the day I got my ipod and that was at least 4 or 5 years ago now. I think I am going to get something a little more trendy that my current one that looks like a sock your granny might wear hehe
