We really feel it’s important to support local business whenever possible and don’t mind paying a little bit more for certain items – but you’d be surprised how much you can get cheaper locally, especially if you build up working relationships with people as often discounts will be offered for repeat or large order customers. If you buy from a large corporation you may get a slightly lower price to begin with but they don’t care about you, your business or your relationship – just thier own profit.

It is so sad to see so many great local places going out of business, my local town centre looked like a ghost town for a while and now with a lot of my favorite stores gone they are being replaced with charity shops, cash convertor shops and places that sell you ridiculously over priced electrical items on credit.

I remember when I used to go out for a day out in town – wander around the clothes and shoe shops, nip into the record shops for a broswe and then pick up a newspaper or magazine and read it sat outside a cafe with a nice cup of coffee and a sticky bun. I could easily be out for a few hours and come home refreshed and like I’d had a nice treat.

These days a trip to town is all business, go in and get exactly what I need from the handful of shops I still use and get back home as soon as possible.

I expect the economy will recover – I just hope that it’s sooner rather than later

I have been looking in to what sort of equipment I would need to start out in more ‘serious’ photography and even looked up a few lessons and courses I could take in the local area. There seem to be a lot of choices to suit all skill levels so it is definitely something I will consider. I might try and convince my husband to come to a few classes with me though as I always prefer to do this sort of thing with someone I am close to and comfortable with. However even if he doesn’t want to come with me I am going to go ahead and go on my own as I am serious about wanting to learn more.

I have been doing my research as if I am going to get into this even semi seriously it is not a cheap hobby and there is a myriad of options. From what I can tell in the research I have done so far about tripods Benro is one of the best brands and they are affordable too – I am glad that I looked into it as well as I probably would have just bought a cheap tripod, assuming there wouldn’t really be much of a difference in quality when it comes to them but if you directly compare cheaper camera tripods to a Benro one there is quite clearly a huge difference.

I said I would looking in to them for him to see if they could potentially be a good investment for him and my findings were quite interesting – once I eventually got around to doing it, I do tend to procrastinate

Where other stocks such as gold have been steadily rising for many years, mining stocks have lagged behind. If you plan to invest in mining then silver may well be the best way to do so, by investing in a silver company that is already established and discover and produce their own silver – the reason for this is that even after the recent spike in the price of silver, the metal is way below its all-time high of fifty dollars an ounce. This means silver companies revenues and profits should continue to increase while expenditures stay relatively flat.

Of course I will recommend that he and anyone else wishing to invest go over your stock ideas with your advisor before making any purchases.

I really liked the site I used to get the tickets so was thinking of ordering some Nassau Coliseum tickets for my mums upcoming birthday and perhaps some Honda Center tickets for my dad as well, I believe it’s Father’s Day in a few months?

I have never been much of a one for going to gigs and stuff but have been to a few so far this year and am really getting into it. I also saw some Beacon Theatre tickets and some Nassau Coliseum tickets that I quite fancy for the summer months
