So we went shopping for nursery furniture today and came home with….nothing. Not a thing.

My sister in law was a lot more picky than I was expecting. At one point she had picked out a few diaper bags she liked the style and price of, but even those went back on the shelf because after we’d been there a few hours and she saw the line at the checkouts she decided she was too tired to wait around to pay for them. I offered to stand in line and get them for her while she went and waited in the car but she just wanted to get home.

I think it’s safe to say she was having a grumpy day!

I don’t know if we are going to try again next week or if she’s just going to find some babies and toddler sites online to get the things she needs from, I hope it’s the latter as today was a bit of a nightmare to be honest!

Who likes photo novelties? Everyone, that’s who!

Seriously if you are ever stuck for a gift for someone and have no clue what to buy them in my experience you can’t go wrong with a novelty photo gift – you can get everything from tshirts of them on a drunk night out to a keyring of them looking loved up with their partner and anything else you could imagine also. The possibilities are endless.

I have a house full of photos already, people always seem to buy me photo frames for birthdays and Christmas and I have some very random novelty gifts already – like a big plastic ring with my husbands face on it! There’s always room for more though and I am always happy to receive them

No no, don’t go getting any ideas they are not for my husband and I, we won’t be needing to go there for at least another few years yet if I get my way. They are for my brother and sister in law who as I told you a few weeks ago have just announced they are expecting their second child. I am going shopping for nursery furniture sets with my sister in law tomorrow and I can’t wait – the first time she was pregnant I was living in Australia so I never really got to take part in the pregnancy stage of things at all, I moved back over to the states a few weeks after my first niece was born.

So this time around I am enjoying every moment I can, but still being very conscious not to be too pushy and in her face – I know how annoying that can be. So I wait until I am invited places and make sure she knows if she needs or wants me for anything she only has to call.

Roll on June when this one is due, I can’t wait

I have decided I need to travel more in 2010, I used to travel a lot – all over the world – but since we’ve bought our gorgeous new house and spent months renovating it I have become a bit of a stay at home person! That’s got to change, I love traveling – every thing about it, from deciding what to pack to throwing everything in the wash as soon as you get home! First stop is Gruene TX because my friend that I met online several years ago lives there and it’s been a long time coming, we’ve been talking about meeting up ever since I lived in the UK – we thought for sure it would happen as soon as I moved to the states but we still never got around to it.

I am heading there next week and I plan to do at least one trip, even if it’s only a night or two away somewhere, every single month. I doubt I will keep up with it, like most resolutions it will be abandonned by February, but I am certainly going to try

Back to my globetrotting ways!

…But sometimes you just have to be, don’t ya? I like to think in general I don’t fall into that roll – I don’t boss my husband around and make rules and make him ask my permission to do things. A lot of the women I know are like that, their men are ‘under the thumb’ and have to ask permission to so much as breathe!

But my dear husband arrived home the other night and told me he’s taking up golf, on a whim.

I am sorry but golf is not a cheap hobby to take up, what with lessons and clubs and golf games it can actually cost a small fortune and we simply can’t afford it at the moment. Who knows maybe if he’s still interested in several months and we have a little more spare cash I will encourage him to take it up, I may even book us a oregon golf resort to stay and play at for a few days. But for now I had to put my foot down and tell him “No way”.

I feel guilty though, I don’t want to ever be the nagging wife!

annnd another thing to add to my list of things I need to get on with tomorrow is looking for a really good but affordable home security systems. That’s been on my to do list for months actually but I am finally going to get around to it.

I get the feeling the next few weeks are going to be very expensive – we have so many things that need either fixing or replacing, everything seems to have broken at once!

I need to go hunting for insurance quotes tomorrow – today is my last ‘lazy’ day before getting back into things. Some how Christmas seemed to last three days this year, I have done nothing but eat, drink and be merry for days now – I am wiped out and getting an early night but then tomorrow…lots to catch up on and get done

My husband and I had big plans tonight but they’ve now been scuppered as he’s going to be spending most of the night with the police – someone drove into his car earlier He’s fine thankfully, as are those in the other car but it’s still not nice to think about.

So I will now probably spend the night gambling online, my thinking is that most other people will be out celebrating Christmas eve or tucked up in bed ready for the big day – so I may have a better chance at winning some money!

I won $40 on roulette last week, but other than that I have not been having much luck lately. I think I will give poker a go tonight.

I have a job that I love, but understandably the profession I am in has a bit of a bad rep – no one wants to have theCollection Agencies chasing them up after all now do they?

I like to think we are one of the good guys though.

I don’t do the actual debt collection myself, I am pretty sure I would hate that job and be terrible at it – I just work in the office on the admin side of things. It’s amazing how much abuse I have had to put up with over the phone over the years – yet strangely people are always nice to my face, not so easy to shout at someone when you are face to face is it?

Still, someone has to work in collection services.

I have just been looking around for the Cheapest Mobile Deals as it’s time for me to get a new contract – my current one is tied in with my Internet service provider who as you know have been driving me crazy lately and I am planning on moving away in the new year – or when I can get out of my current contract with them.

There’s some pretty good deals to be had actually and with a lot of them you can get as much as £100 cashback, making for some really sweet deals
