I want a flat belly

I wish I knew how to reduce belly fat better than I am doing now, I work out all the time but I mainly do cardio – running and the elliptical etc, I have also recently started doing weights and I am toning up and looking good – but still seem to have this big flabby belly. Seems to be the curse of most people as it’s the last place we seem to lose weight, but I am sure I will get there in the end :)

I think I need a new elliptical though as this one is no longer smooth and it’s long out of warranty so I was just on a site with various different elliptical machine ratings looking to get an idea of what sort of price I am looking at for a decent one that is going to last me longer than five minutes.

I’ve already had about 5 over the last 3 years, these things tend not to last!

Going on an airplane :)

It’s so long since I have been on a plan that I have forgotten how it all works and all the things to need to do and prepare and pay for when you are going abroad on vacation.

I was just looking at phl parking for our trip there next month and trying to find somewhere really cheap (but still safe, I’ve seen some horror stories on the news about airport parking!) to drop the car off while we are away.

We were supposed to be getting dropped off at the airport by a friend who said they didn’t mind how early it was, but once they found out our flight is at 5am they soon changed their mind. We considered public transport but with the cases and it being so early it just wans’t feasible and a cab would probably cost us more than the airport parking itself.

It’s all a hassle, not like throwing some stuff in the car and setting off when you feel like it like we are used to – but it will all be totally worth it once we get to lovely, exotic, gorgeous Hawaii and spend the week relaxing and getting a tan :)

Cute Baby Costumes

I’ve just been shopping for some infant halloween costumes for my niece, aaaahhh they are so cute – they almost make me want to have a baby myself just so I can dress them up as a cute little pumpkin or a ghost or a little bit of candy! I don’t think I’d actually go through with it, but it certainly makes me think :)

Protect those eyes

Does any one know where I can get some protective glasses for my dad? He needs some for working out in his shed, which he does often, and I said that I would have a look online for some that are decent but affordable, he doesn’t want to spend a fortune on them – he just wants something to make sure he doesn’t have a silly accident.

We need more privacy

I really do love the new place we have moved into, it’s just the right size for us and it’s in the perfect location but we really need to go buy some new cheap blinds for the dining room. I liked the idea of having big patio doors that lead out onto the back garden in the dining room, but I didn’t take into account just how unprivate our back garden really is – the neighbours seem to practically live out in their back gardens and they can see right in to the dining room, kitchen and living room from where they sit. The garden is also accessible from a main road so any one who stops by can just wander round the back and be stood right at the back door if we don’t answer the front door for some reason – which we often don’t – I’ve already been scared half to death by looking up and seeing my sister in law, the postman and a salesman stood there.

So yeah, it’s a shame because I liked being able to see out – but we are definitely putting up a decent blind so that we feel like we have more privacy again.

Control that motion dad

My dad asked me to pick up a new custom servo motor for him, whhaaaat? Like I know what that is, I wouldn’t even know where to start looking. He tried to explain it to me and let me know where to go to to get it, but it seemed really complicated and technical so I told him he’d be better off just going and getting it himself.

I don’t think that put me in his best books, he’s always running around picking things up for me so I think he was a bit put out – and I did feel bad about it, but really – don’t send me to do something complicated, it’ll just never end well because I am useless.

I think he did go and pick one up himself last weekend and it’s not been mentioned since so fingers crossed he’s not mad at me any more. I am sure he isn’t, my dad isn’t one to hold a grudge :)

New Orleans Time?

I was just looking at some things to do in New Orleans on a couple of websites, we are hopefully heading out that way in 2011 – maybe even spending new year there – but we need somewhere affordable to stay so I was also looking at a site about cheap hotels in New Orleans we can’t afford to spend a lot as money is really tight at the moment but we have plenty of time to save up so at least we should be able to get somewhere nice.

Somewhere with a pool and bar would be ideal because for me that’s a very important part of staying in a hotel, having all those amenities fright on your doorstep.

We love staying in hotels, I think it stems from the fact neither of us did when we were growing up – it was always self-catering places or caravans etc. No where nice and posh.

I am always entering competitions to try and win vacations and nights in hotels etc. Not been lucky yet but I am sure it will come :)

Bang Bang Bang!

I was just looking at some UTG airsoft sniper rifle on a couple of websites, my nephew is big into his bb guns and the like and he asked me to find some stuff for him.

Being from the UK originally I found the whole gun thing really strange when I first moved to America about 3 years ago now – in the UK and Australia where I lived for several years I never saw a gun, not even the police generally carry them, the only people who’d have any sort of guns would be farmers and criminals so to suddenly be in a place where everyone and their momma walk around packing heat is a little bizarre to say the least.

It still doesn’t exactly sit right with me and I get a little antsy if I see anyone carrying one – but I guess it’s just the norm over here and I need to get used to it.

Get Educated

I was randomly surfing around and saw yet another link telling me to Click Here, I did as I was told and clicked the link and I was taken to a site all about a Phoenix Cosmetology Programs – it’s something I have been thinking about getting into recently so it was sort of like a sign.

I had never really been a girly girl when I was younger but now that I have lost all that weight and am a ‘normal’ size I am definitely more interested in treating myself and getting pampered.

One of my friends has her own little beauty salon with her mom and I have been spending a lot of time there recently, both getting treatments and learning how to give them. So maybe I will do a proper course, earn some qualifications and become a cosmetologist myself, it’s never too late to change career right :)

So cooooooold

When our heating system broke down a few winters ago it was an absolute nightmare, we called a heating repair in Aurora Colorado service the day it happened but we got messed around and around and it ended up taking almost six weeks to get fully fixed – six weeks without heating in the middle of winter is not fun that’s for sure.

I would sit in the lounge room under a duvet, in several layers of clothing including a hat and gloves and I would still be cold.

I could have cried from the relief on the day we finally got it working again.

I was reminded of this because a few days it broke down again and I thought Oh gosh here we go, I can’t handle another winter like that! Thankfully it was a minor issue and it was taken care of within just two days – I was so happy when the repair guy said ‘all done’ that I could have kissed him!
