Whenever my parents go away they always stay in hotels, but my husband and I much prefer a nice vacation rental. Aside from the fact it’s often a lot cheaper for what you get we just prefer the freedom that comes with being able to do your own thing :)

I was on Vacation Rental.org earlier, just having a look and a daydream about the summer when we next get to go away for a week and I saw a funny commercial they posted. It features superhero UNITARD who spends his life trying to stop people making bad choices when it comes to their vacations.

Take a look at the vacation rental commercial for yourself here :)

My friend has had to go out and find a motorcycle accident attorney today. they were involved in a little crash on Christmas eve when someone else ran a red light and made them crash into the side of them – at the time they said they knew it was their fault and they’d take responsibility but now they appear to have changed their minds and are saying it was my friend that ran the light :(

I have just been looking at fitness equipment, I have had a cross trainer at home for over 2 years now and as much as it has helped me lose weight I think it’s time to change it up. I’d love to get a treadmill to be honest, but I simply don’t have anywhere to put it at the moment – nowhere convenient any way. I am thinking it might be time to get an exercise bike :)

I was just on my favourite website looking for places to stay when we go away in June – every year since my husband and I have been together we have gone away for 5 nights at the end of June (to tie in with the anniversary of when we met), we’ve been to several places but the last few years we’ve gone to Tenby – a lovely little place in South Wales.

Before that we went to Liverpool, Ingoldmells, Skegness, Filey and Scarborough.

Tenby wins hands down though and I imagine that is where will we go every year from now on. I actually used to go there as a young teen with my parents and whoever my ‘bestest friend forever’ happened to be at the time so it hold happy memories – we used to go and waste so much time and money in the arcades there. Playing the penny pushing machines, trying to grab ‘must have’ toys from the grabbers and flirting with the boys ;)

Now as an adult wherever we go any where we look out for a Quicksilver Games Arcade to go have some fun in and my husband always tries to win me something from a grabber machine – he does pretty well and I have an entire shelf at home just full of cute cuddly toys he’s won for me :)

One place we have never visited but have always wanted to is Birmingham, as you know by now when we visit the UK we like to travel around but because we both have family in Yorkshire and the Midlands we don’t tend to stay close by to those places, travelling further afield always seems more exciting – we will definitely rectify that this trip.

I want to visit the Bull Ring, the Birmingham museum and I have always fancied visiting the Sea Life Centre there. Plus maybe have some fun in the Quicksilver Games arcades and have something to eat in a local Wetherspoons which is sort of a tradition now whenever we go any where.

I am thinking of getting my dad an e cigarette, as an ex smoker myself I know how annoying it is to have people nagging at you to quit – the only way to be able to do it is if you really want to do it for yourself.

So I don’t nag him, but offering him a helping hand and suggestions for if he does decide to pack it in can only be a good thing, right?

We have to go pick up some new floor tiles at the weekend. Given we spent almost 6 months renovating our house recently everyone thinks we’re experts so we seem to keep getting sucked in to helping other people with their DIY projects – we don’t mind helping really, but people are crazy if they actually think we will be any better at most things than they are.

I have never been much of an Apple fangirl, I have friends who are completely obsessed though – they will buy absolutely anything and everything they bring out.

Don’t get me wrong their stuff is generally great, I have owned ipods and I really want an iphone – but I can happily live without them and wouldn’t pay over the odds for something just because it was by Apple.

My eyeglasses broke a few days ago, and I couldn’t be happy – I have been waiting for an excuse to get new ones for years now but because money has been tight couldn’t justify the expense, as there was nothing actually wrong with them – I had just gone off the style.

Color me surprised however when I went online to find some more when I came across a site called Zenni Optical via a review of them in Examiner.com where you can get prescription glasses as cheap as $8! Are you serious? The last time I bought some they were almost $300 – if I had known that I could get some that are just as good quality for such a small amount I’d have got some eons ago instead of putting up with the ones I went off.

As well as being really affordable they have a large range to choose from which is good news. I was skeptical as I was reading up about them as it seemed too good to be true, I thought they’d sting you on shipping or extras or they’d only have 5 styles to choose from – but no, they are a legit company with a wide range at great prices.

I’ve never been so happy to break an expensive item before!

I am doing a little research about online life insurance firms that I can deal with at work – I don’t really know why I am being given this job as it’s not actually anything to do with my position, but I am one of those people who just say yes when asked to do something. I just find it hard to say no, I really need to work on that.
